Elena North here.
Let’s continue with my story.
Well, so we were finally able to have good food,
but all else still was in ashes…
Nevertheless, Johnny and I wanted to have a family.
Here you can see my firstborn son, Patrick, and my elder daughter, Celina,
playing with the dollhouse.
We made this to teach future generations how life used to be
– before the Apocalypse.
Johnny and me played a lot of chess. This was our way to pass time.
There was nothing else that could possibly be entertaining.
At least we were able to give our kids good food.
I was so happy about that fact.
And it was important too to eat a lot of fresh food.
Otherwise we would have not only starved, but also died from dehydration.
Only the liquids locked in fresh food seemed to be safe,
we could not drink the water coming out of the pipes.
All in all in the coming years I gave birth to four babies – Patrick, Celina, Carolin and Fabio.
Being dirty was normal. We washed ourselves with the little water drippling from our pipes. But even the water was not very clean. So we seldom were very hygienically washed.
This was a problem, of course, medically speaking.
We often felt sick, with no way to remedy it.
Of course our kids also learned chess at a young age.
The family pastime.
All in all, we were a happy family… even in midst of all this.
My son Patrick was trying hard to find a liquid that one was able to drink.
Feeling constantly parched was a horrible condition for him – for us all.
I cooked as I could, and tried to keep as much fresh liquid inside the food.
It was our only source of a bit of water.
Johnny grew old…
It was often hard for our little ones to find sleep.
Fear of monsters under the bed, fear of zombies outside our shelter…
… even at their young age they could seldom find peace.
So we lent them our big parents bed whenever we could.
It seemed to tranquilize them a bit.
I grew old as well…
The overstrained sinks broke once and again.
Playing with the dollhouse our kids had a little fun as well as learning how life used to be…
… I wanted them to remember. It sounded like a fairytale to them.
Patrick learned how to cook easy meals…
Our men in the house were often very stinky.
And not only the men.
Then one day, it was time for Johnny to go into the light.
Death by old age took him from us.
I broke down in tears… my Johnny dead!!!
But I had to stay strong for my family.
My kids needed me…
I swear I could sometimes sense Johnnys presence right near to us.
He was still around on some other plane.
Celina learned cooking as well…
As my kids slowly grew older, I noticed I liked to sleep more naps.
Carolin grew a teen as well and rather pretty.
Unfortunately my eldest son Patrick seemed to be a little insane.
I don’t blame him… living in midst of the apocalypse can make anyone a little mad.
Proud of my kids.
But they’re still dirty little bastards.
Because there is still no running, clean water…
So much is left to do around here!
I am too old…
now my young ones should take over and change the situation for us all…
