Clean

Vincent Wonder here.

YEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH!!!!

You’ve read it, right?

You’ve read it as well?!?

Yes you have!!!!!

So yeah, people started getting attention on Glassbolt.

And we started receiving help.

First, medical items were shipped back in. Stuff like medicaments… or contraception pills.

10.04.16_12-44-13

They also promised to work hard to get running water back to Glassbolt.

But it would took time to repair everything. It wouldn’t be until Sunday we’d get showers and tubs.

Although that was a record time to repair the sewage of a whole city,

I tell you, it never was so hard to wait half a week!!

16.04.16_12-00-49

The dirt was getting to us even more than before, or so it seemed. We were only hoping for relief from a good shower or bath, with nice, great-smelling soap…

16.04.16_12-56-12

Then finally the time came. The new bathrooms were installed.

16.04.16_12-56-44

16.04.16_12-58-38

It was such a luxury to have plenty of clean(ISH) water.

16.04.16_13-00-25

And all this was MY accomplishment!

16.04.16_13-04-51

Yeah, I guess I can’t hide it no longer.

I’ve grown old and grey.

But that’s how things go here, you know?

People age.

And hey, just look at my son…

barely a teen, and he is already getting a bald spot.

That must be the radiation.

I’m preoccupied…

Teen

Vincent Wonder here.

Not much news, to be honest…

… we’re just all growing older.

10.04.16_12-53-45

Our adorable kiddies…

10.04.16_13-04-33

Well, Vanessa is not a kid anymore.

10.04.16_13-14-45

10.04.16_13-17-27

Other than that,

life is still pretty much the same…

… but we keep hope.

Soon I will reveal to the world all that I wrote down.

Soon…

The time is still not right.

The world is still not hearing our call for help.

I need to catch hold of a better megaphone, a better and bigger newspaper.

I need to get published in a newspaper that’s actually read outside of Glassbolt…

Kiddies

Vincent Wonder here.

Family life is great,

although it’s still hell out here in Glassbolt.

But we are building our own little private paradise at home.

29.03.16_16-13-09

29.03.16_16-18-05

We built our kids a dollhouse to show them how life used to be before the disaster,

and what a world exactly we were trying to restore.

29.03.16_16-42-26

Florian outgrew the crib.

29.03.16_16-49-25

We are so proud of our two wonderful children.

29.03.16_16-53-33

With our help and that of his sister, Florian also learned the essentials to life.

29.03.16_16-55-38

Our two kids spent hours and hours with the dollhouse.

29.03.16_17-05-10

There’s nothing better than a happy family.

I have no words to thank my wife.

She is my life, my everything.

She gave me a family.

She gave me a better life.

I love her so much.

29.03.16_17-28-03

We are family

Vincent Wonder here.

Things are going okay.

Well, life is still a huge struggle,

and not much has changed so far in Glassbolt,

but… I have a family now.

Gina made for a wonderful pregnant wife, although she was constantly tired and hungry and her back hurt…

27.03.16_21-41-58

Then came the moment we had both wished for and feared a little…

and yeah, I guess I freaked out a bit.

27.03.16_21-50-47

Gina gave birth to a beautiful, healthy baby girl.

27.03.16_21-55-13

We named her Vanessa.

27.03.16_21-56-03

27.03.16_22-41-44

Vanessa was a good baby. She cried only when she was hungry or needed her diaper changed. She slept a lot and let Gina have a lot of time with me.

We sometimes have to eat rotten fish, but we are happy.

We are a family now.

27.03.16_22-44-57

Vanessa quickly outgrew the crib.

Oh, they grow so fast.

27.03.16_22-46-21

27.03.16_23-08-1927.03.16_23-02-23

I continued to work as a journalist, interviewing people and writing about the disaster…

Vanessa was a bright child, interesting in learning. She easily grasped reading and writing and all a kid needed to know.

27.03.16_23-16-37

Then my wife surprised us with the great news that we were expecting another family member.

27.03.16_23-19-52

27.03.16_23-29-0127.03.16_23-36-21

Then Gina gave birth to another child.

This time, a bouncing baby boy.

27.03.16_23-41-11

We named him Florian.

So now it’s Gina, Vanessa, Florian and me.

Together we’ll make it.

27.03.16_23-43-02

Life goes on

Vincent Wonder here.

I’m good.

Life goes on.

In all the sense of the word.

Let me tell you.

19.03.16_19-07-51

My wife Gina is a treasure.

19.03.16_19-20-55

Talking to people and interviewing them, one day an old woman approached me.

19.03.16_19-23-18

„You are still young, Vincent. You have a beautiful, young wife. You should have kids.“

She was right. There was no contraception anyway… and I wanted to enjoy married life.

19.03.16_19-30-08

Gina LOVED the idea of having kids.

19.03.16_19-31-10

19.03.16_19-50-27

Then one day she approached me with a sad face…

„Darling“, she said, „I have bad news…“

„Oh no“, I whispered.

„I’m pregnant“, she whispered back as her face lit up. „Got you!“

„OH MY GOD!!!!!!“

19.03.16_19-55-44

„So… I’m really going to be a father?“

„Yes, you are.“

So yeah. We’re looking forward to having our own small family.

19.03.16_19-59-01

Gina

Vincent Wonder here.

I’m so excited!

Gina just stood outside my shelter…

18.03.16_09-50-12

and I don’t know how it happened really, but… I couldn’t help it.

I kissed her.

18.03.16_09-51-12

And she kissed me back.

18.03.16_09-54-02

So I asked her to be mine forever.

18.03.16_09-55-52

And she said yes.

18.03.16_09-56-35

So we will share our life together.

We’re not alone anymore.

18.03.16_09-58-22

She will live with me. And we’ll be a family some day.

18.03.16_10-04-41

Settling into hell

Vincent Wonder here.

So I settled into my shelter in Glassbolt.

A three-story building with the bare necessities for life.

At least there was a computer where I could write down how I felt,

and what was REALLY happening in Glassbolt, outside of what media told.

13.03.16_10-47-29

I had decided to find a way to tell the world we needed help.

After all, what we most needed was clean running water, and medical supplies…

yeah, and food of course. All there was, was fish from the river, grilled.

But well. And we needed a whole heap of stuff more. But time to time.

Time passed slowly. There was not much to do, except catch fish.

I played chess with myself, or „Don’t wake the Llama“… but it was boring.

When I went out, I started a chat with the people I encountered. How were they feeling?

How could we tell the world we needed help? What did they want me to tell the world?

Then, I wrote it all down.

They were thankful, although they were not sure if I would really reach the world outside.

13.03.16_18-15-27

Yeah, and then I met this girl. Gina. She has something…

13.03.16_18-17-33

There is not much to think about in the shelter. So I think about Gina.
